Mary Tourtel Rupert and the Wonderful Boots First Edition 1931

Collecting Collectables has for sale this rare children’s illustrated book, Mary Tourtel Rupert and the Wonderful Boots.  This rare soft cover book is one of the largest Rupert books from this pre-war period measuring 14.50 x 9.50 inches (approximately) with large colour illustrations to the front and back and throughout this book.

The front cover bears an illustration of an early Rupert the Bear wearing his “Wonderful Boots” running down a hill being watched by a farmer who is tending to his horses.

The original soft covers are in Very Good condition with a slight tear to the bottom of the spine; and an old horizontal fold in the middle that goes through the book, but is not too noticeable and does not detract from the aesthetic appearance of this magnificent book.

This early pre-war Rupert book has wonderful colour illustrations throughout, including the Title Page.  The pages are unpaginated and are in overall Very Good condition with no inscription and wonderful large illustrations throughout with vivid colours.

This is a highly desirable early Rupert book of the pre-war era that will make a great addition to any Rupert or children’s illustrated book collection.
